The transform.HTMLEscape function escapes five special characters by replacing them with HTML entities:

  • & → &
  • < → &lt;
  • > → &gt;
  • ' → &#39;
  • " → &#34;

For example:

{{ htmlEscape "Lilo & Stitch" }} → Lilo &amp; Stitch
{{ htmlEscape "7 > 6" }} → 7 &gt; 6
